Rei Fine Jewels- Jewelry design and creation
Bio image_edited.jpg

Fine arts and crafts have been of interest since the age of 2, I'm now in my 40s. My Grandmother taught textile and embroidery

design. My Father and Grandfather ran a professional pottery studio in Scotland. So it was natural that I grew up creating and had an early appreciation for art and crafts.

I graduated in Fine Art and specialized in Photography from Nottingham University, U.K. in 2000. I always had a love of textiles and clay and fine beading. Since my 20's I have been interested in vintage jewelry and design. It was back in 2011 when I purchased a selection of beads and started creating work for friends as gifts. In the last 2 years & since 2020,  I decided I liked the craft and would try to produce cold connection jewelry for the PEI markets. I enjoy sculpture and this is a large part of the process.

I enjoy the 3D element and the wearability of my jewelry creations. The Island inspires the work and I constantly reference the surroundings in my designs, capturing the memories of seasons, colours and nature of this beautiful little Island.

I wish to Acknowledge the Mi'Kmaq people and First Nations in the creation of my work, for the inspiration of the place we inhabit. In Gratitude and appreciation of the earth, air and oceans P.E.I/ Abegweit. 'Cradled on the Waves'
