Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mary has lived on Prince Edward Island for over 40 years. After completing high school in the Ottowa area she attended art school in Chicago studying commercial art and illustration. She is creative in many ways; expressing herself through sketches, painting, illustrations and other textile mediums. She then discovered the love of rug hooking in 1982 and hasn’t looked back since.

 

Mary has exhibited and sold her rug hooking at various venues and has taught and demonstrated Primitive rug hooking for many years. Her unique rugs have been enjoyed by people across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Inspired by her maritime surroundings, Mary continues to create her own designs and enjoys discussing her rugs with others.
